The Teams take part in the Challenges in order to win and reap a Reward, or lose and suffer a Punishment. Typically, younger (from child to young adult) participators are put on the Teams, while older or more experienced individuals are either Mentors or Judges. There should be far more individuals in the Teams than there are Mentors and Judges combined: although there is not set cap, keep that in mind when claiming.
Teams each have their own living quarters, with a wings or houses separated by age group (children, teens and adults).
Here are some examples of what the Teams represent. Keep in mind, these are only basic ideas and your character does not have to follow them completely.
Team | Color | Element | Creature | Positive Traits | Negative Traits |
Wands | Red and Gold | Fire | Dragon | Passion | Instinct | Energy | Anger | Destructiveness |
Pentacles | Green and Copper | Earth | Nymph | Stability | Wisdom | Strength | Greed | Close-Mindedness |
Swords | Purple and Silver | Air | Fairy | Wits | Cleverness | Clarity | Envy | Vindictiveness |
Cups | Blue and Cobalt | Water | Mermaid | Loving | Altruistic | Open-Minded | Lust | Self-Sacrificing |
The Mentors
Mentors are often older and are equipped with some kind of skill or specialty. Mentors can have any kind of skill; they may be skilled in cooking, athletics, writing, economics, mathematics, science, combat, ect. Anything could be useful for a Challenge, so all sorts of Mentors are brought in. Mentors cannot be specifically assigned to any one Team, and are expected to help everyone prepare, but some Mentors may be biased. Mentors have no say in who wins or loses, nor can they interfere during an actual Challenge. Mentors have their own living area, very separate from the Teams.
The Judges
The Judges have the say in who wins or loses a Challenge. They can come from any background, may or may not be skilled, and, like the Mentors, may have their biases. The Judges vote for the winning team for each Challenge, deciding the placing unless the Game Master interferes. Judges are not expected to help anyone prepare for a Challenge, although they can if they want to. Judges have a fair amount of control and authority. Judges can inflict small penalties for bad behavior: such as chores, grounding or humiliation. The Judges may be somewhat close with the Game Master, but ultimately must answer to them.
Execs
[this rank is currently locked]
The Execs are the Game Master's right-hand helpers, making sure all are kept safely in the control of the Game Master. They are mysterious and sworn to an oath of secrecy regarding their interactions with they Game Master. They have the ultimate authority in the Game Master's absence. They may override the Judge's decision, change who processes Rewards or Punishments, and any instill new rules. They also have a say in what the Challenges will be like.
Game Master
The mysterious Game Master is the one in charge. They ultimately decide what Challenges will be undertaken, and what Rewards and Punishments are doled out. Should a tie occur, the Game Master will determine a way to break it. They are aloof, but their voice is heard by all and must be obeyed.
